To the Monk sitting inside dark cave

The monk sitting inside the dark cave
meditating for years together!
For you want to see God?
Strange are your ways!

Shunning the most precious
gift, you are hanging on
a mirage!

Is your stillness of mind,
more sacred than
the beloved's hug?
Is the chanting of your hymn,
more soothing than
Mozart's Symphony?
Is your Mantra,
more enchanting than
the words of Tagore?

If you cant love a human
in flesh and blood, so real near you,
Can you ever love an idea in non-form realm?
If you have never loved, and then lost,
if your tears have never eventually over time,
softened your longing,
How can you long for somebody,
you have never touched?

What is the meaning,
in hiding inside mental constructs,
receding from physical reality?

You say all those are "Maya"!
Why you forget you are part of the
same weaving?
For you are one among many petals,
forming the flower of creation!
How can you just shun who you are?

For Life is a short vacation!
In the most beautiful place
known as Earth!
Do not be a fool,
and waste your time inside the
darkness of the cave!

Venture out,
Lift your soul,
With the fragrance of the flowers!
With the sensuous rising orgasm
of the ocean!
With the smile of the child!
With the stillness of the moon
shining on the lake at night!

Listen to the stories
the wind has to whisper in your ears,
Note what the cuckoo has to say
early in the morning!
Watch the birds venturing out
in the morning sky!
Feel the throb of creation,
in each and every form around!

Come back to your natural self!
Dont hold back your urge!
Make love with the sensuous Creation!
Dont shun her!
Though she shall be ever voluptuous,
Through eternity,
But you shall perish in a blip!

The monk sitting inside the dark cave
Strange are your ways!
